Recently, I had a piece of my tattoo work featured in the Tattooed New York exhibition at the New York Historical Society. The exhibition tells the history of tattooing in New York from Coney Island Sideshows to Post Mastectomy Tattooing. The Historical Society used a post-mastectomy piece I did on Megan Hartman, a breast cancer previvor.
As if that wasn’t enough of an honor, I was also offered the opportunity to perform a live tattoo demonstration as part of the exhibition on April 1st. Bianca Beres, was kind enough to let me tattoo her for the day and answer a number of questions asked by visitors. We did the black and grey floral/geometric piece below in a few hours as visitors of the museum came through. It was an incredible experience and I’m grateful to have had the chance. Thank you to Cristian and everyone at the Historic Society Museum for putting together such a wonderful event. The exhibition is up through the end of the month. I suggest checking it out if you are able.
